Unlocking the Truth

Man, Unlocking the Truth have been together since 2007. This was pre-school for them, of course. They needed a bass player - in pre-school. These guys were determined at birth (so it seems). But African American kids usually grab a mic (at that age) and rap. Not these guys. They were into Metallica and Disturbed, back then.
Wow, in pre-school, my teacher was showing me how to write with my right hand instead of my left. Malcolm Brickhouse and Jarad Dawkins were learning how to take over the music world via rock/metal.
Yeah, these guys were smart (and are still genius).
My first glimpse of the band was some footage of all three jamm’n on the sidewalk in, possibly, Brooklyn, NY. They must have been 12 or 13; Around that age. Lucky for them, both Jarad and Malcolm were able to teach “new comer” Alec Atkins how to play bass, circa 2013 - and like magic, they formed a band.
The money started rolling in around 2014 when they signed to Sony Music Entertainment for $1.8 million. Unfortunately, they were able to release themselves from the deal, and gained more control over their brand via Tunecore. How much money did they make at the “end of the day”? I’m not sure, but they were able to record a kick ass album called Chaos.
Chaos was very good, and their videos did them justice.
Where should I begin, regarding Chaos? Well, my three top favorite videos (I love them all) was “Faywb”. Really, really liked this song. “Numbing” was good, but the video “Take Control” caught my eye.
A neighborhood full of pre-teens are seen wearing masks (maybe to hide who they are) and began to approach one another. One teen was being beaten down while three other teens “eye” each other amicably, yet distrustfully. We see teens on skateboards while one teen drives onto a desired location, in a flat-bed truck. While everyone was seen, riding to this destination, a young teen was seen being pushed around (physically) by a middle aged male. A group of teens wait for him (on bikes) when the young teen was able to pry his way from his attacker.
Fortunately, they all end up at the destination where Unlocking the Truth was seen jamm’n to this rock tune. Everyone was, finally, happy while Malcolm cried out “Take Control”.
What I’d like to do, with this band, is to provide you with “Monster”, the video. Then I’d like to provide the video, “Take Control”. Last, I’d like you to see them live at Bonnaroo, in 2015. It’s a very good concert.
