Nicki Minaj came into my world of observation when a famous talk show host was mad at Nicki for making her (Nicki) butt bigger. She needed a bigger butt in order to capitalize on the new craze (at this moment in time) twerk’n.
Twerk’n was new to me circa 2014 when the album Pink Print came out. People, I mean, strippers were twerk’n a lot during this period in time. To celebrate this new craze, Nicky filmed “Anaconda” (the video) to show off her new assets.
Actually, while flying down the rabbit hole, I realized Nicki always had a nice shape. Not sure why the talk show host was bickering and so fouled up about Nicki’s assets.
The host went on to parodying a gaseous Nicky - pumping out (smelly) air while gyrating or twerk’n to the beat.
Naww, Nicki always had this figure and must have been (in the talk show host’s world) during her first album, Pink Friday (2010), and maybe the second album, Pink Friday Roman Reloaded (2012), a skinny butt woman.
The single “Super Bass” was a bad ass video, and one of her first. Her butt was sexy and she had (and still has) a nice body. Now “Super Bass” became the top five on the Billboard 200 (again, back in 2010).
Like most of her singles, “Super Bass” was a club/dance track. The video featured lots of men, and lots of Nicki looking good on what might be a dance floor of the future. Lots of neon glitter and plenty of “pink” flavorings. Very radioactive. Real nice.
Now, I’m gonna save “Anaconda” for last, in order to finish our conversation about the talk show host. Until then, we have “Starships” from the Pink Friday Roman Reloaded (2012) album - which was said to be a big club/dance album, once again.
Actually, this track rocked harder than “Super Bass” and featured a heavy synth chorus that jamm’d, almost, like a big, guitar metal jam. Of course, there were no guitars in this song, but the synth and kick drum were pounding away. Very nice.
So, this brings us up to “Anaconda” - which rock’d, as well, but featured a sexy Nicki crawling to a “lover” (who reminded me of Drake) waiting for Nicki to slink on over. Yup, Nicki twerk’d and wiggled, till Drake, I mean her “lover”, tried to touch Nicki. Nicki froze, then walked off in a mood showing she wasn’t having it.
The “lover” put his hands to his face as if to, um, maybe cry or pout. You know?
So, I’ll, definitely, provide you with “Super Bass”. Then we’ll kick it with “Starships”, and then, last, but not least, I’ll drop “Anaconda”.
Let me know what you think.
