Lil Tecca

O.K. So, for me, this whole Lil Tecca adventure started with “Ransom”. Now, “Ransom” seemed like a small, cute commercial for Tec (Lil Tecca), but this song/video was huge. It featured a guy with dreads and glasses, inside a work out gym. The gym was filled with sexy women (not as sexy as the women in videos “Down with Me”, “Number 2/Never Last”, and “Taste”) working out - and the video featured a friend, or buddy of Lil Tecca’s - running around messing with the sexy women who were working out.

So, there seems to be a golf course and a golf course cart (or buggy). Lil Tecca and his buddy were seen riding around, or jumping on and off this cart.

Seems like a nice video, but, today, this video reached 513 million views on YouTube. Lil Tecca was nominated for an MTV Video Award in 2019, and a Billboard Music Award in 2020 (for this video). The single peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, again in 2019.Why was this video so BIG? Not sure, as compared to some very good videos and singles Tec produced - but I heard on the grape vine that Lil Tecca had written over 400 beats around the time of this blog entry. I recall Lil Tecca produced “Knock Knock” by Sofaygo. He even makes an appearance in that video.

But what about Tec’s other works? Were they as big as Ransom? Actually, three videos, I enjoyed, were not as big but were huge by today’s standards.

“Down with Me” reached 13 million views on YouTube, and, in my opinion, is one of his best videos. It features Tec, and some very sexy women, rolling a joint and riding around in a car. Sounds common, but the beat is so live. Saxophones and smooth keyboards carry you through New York City - into a pad filled with sexy women.

Then there’s “Number 2/Never Last” (2024). That video is rock’n. - only Tec seems to be Don Juan on this track. Sport’n a race car leather jacket and some shades. To this date, “Number 2/Never Last” has reached 7.3 million views (on YouTube). Not bad for a new track.

Finally, a very favorite of mine is “Taste” - off the Plan A album (2024). Very nice. It features a very demure angel from some far off land, and Tec is just chill’n in a mansion (or a very large house).

I love Tec’s new stuff. He seems to get better and better with time.

So, I’ll provide you with “Ransom” (in video form, of course). “Down with Me”, “Number 2/Never Last”, and last will be “Taste”. All very good videos for one reason or another.
