I remember the first time seeing Tana. He was in a video with Kashdami called “14”. It was good, but he was real young, at this point in time. Regardless, I caught this video a few more times. He wore glasses in the video - and I thought to myself, “ are glasses a new thing?”
He went by the name of Baby Santana - which was taken from one of his rap heroes, Fredo Santana. Don’t know much about Fredo, but everything came together for Tana when I saw the video, “Antisocial”. Man, I was floored. He was rapping with another guy - Slump6s.
O.k., “Antisocial” was really popp’n and then I realised Tana could get bigger.
Low and behold, in 2020, Tana came out with “Prada” - which went viral on social media platforms, leading to a re-mix with Galantic Records associate, Lil Tecca.
“Antisocial” gained a lot of steam on Tik Toc and Soundcloud, which got him a record deal with Galantic in 2021.
I started understanding Tana after watching “Hell Yeah” (2022). You could see how big the guy became. Concert footage with crowds in the hundreds. It’s a good rap song, and a marker to how successful Tana became; but it doesn’t stop there.
Tana made a video that stuck a middle finger at all the haters. He became rich and gave a glimpse at how much bigger, and possibly, wealthy Tana grew. “HTX” was the video - and after watching this one, you’ll get an idea on how far Tana came from filming “14”. I mean, the sky’s the limit on “HTX”, and “Hell Yeah”. Watch him grow!
So, I’ll provide you with “14”, then “Antisocial”. From there, we’ll go to “Hell Yeah”, and then we’re done with “HTX”.
A good performer, and a guy who really grew up in the rap industry; glasses and all.
